Batik take two
This month's canvas and wine saw us exploring the beauty of batik. Our evening last Thursday was a great success and due to popular demand we hosted our first ever 'Take two' event. With a background in textile design, I jumped at the chance to host the second evening and was joined by a very talented and dedicated class. Both evenings started off with wine from Wine Embassy and delicious homemade cheese from Nha Trang Cheese (both locally based in D2) to help everyone get th

Ho Ho Ho
We were getting into the festive spirit this week at my Saturday painting class. We had a very hands on lesson preparing paper mache baubles to be painted next week before really getting our hands busy with hand print painting. We cut out all of our prints (after a lot of paint fueled high fives!) and arranged them to make festive wreathes. Its was a sticky, messy and fun lesson and I'm excited to see the baubles finished next week! Keep up the good work! Chỉ còn và i tuần nữa

Cubism
One of the things we pride ourselves on at VinSpace is our wide range of Art Clubs we offer around the city. From Sketching and Painting to Art & Craft, Animation to Jewellery; there is something to inspire every student! A current highlight in my schedule is driving way down to District 7 where myself and Miss Megan run the Art & Craft and Painting Clubs. Not only can the drive offer amazing views of the city; the sunsets recently have been stunning (thankfully rainy season

Jewellery
I am Chimene, I teach the after school club Jewellery. So far we have made pom poms, key rings, woven paper bracelets, t-shirt bags and glittery Peter Pan collars. Last week the children learnt to weave friendship bracelets using wool and card. At first they couldn’t understand how a bracelet could be made by weaving different colour wool around a paper circle but when they saw the start of their bracelets forming, they were so excited that they began weaving furiously whilst

Pepper Mayhem
Every school term we get to pack up lots of fun activities and venture out to international school across the city. For me these classes are my favourite, everything down to planning the classes is really exciting to me (sometimes more so than the children are). This week I caused mayhem over a pepper, as most of the children thought I was going to make them eat a chilli pepper. I like to make quite complex tasks really simple, and this week we broke a pepper down into simple

OOO AAAAAAARt and craft
OOO-ARRRRRRRRRt and Craft This week we crossed the seven seas in search of buried treasure! We created our own treasure maps full of deadly dangers to avoid, including erupting volcanoes, dangerous swamps and secret caves, Once our maps were ready, we had to look the part – so we practiced our origami skills by making our own pirate hats. Ready for adventure, we followed our maps around the studio and gallery in search of the treasure! Tuần nà y chúng tôi đã vượt qua 7 đại dươ

Fireworks
Last Saturday my painting class helped me celebrate my favourite night of the year-Guy Fox night, a firework celebration from Scotland. Working on large canvas banners we painted our night sky before playing with splashing, stamping and spraying paint to create our explosive sky. We used collage and of course LOTS of glitter to give our banners a real sparkle. Thanks for making my Guy Fox celebration so much fun! Thứ bảy tuần rồi lớp vẽ hội hoạ đã cùng tôi tổ chức đêm lễ hội

Sketching
I lead the Sketching class every Monday- my highlight is seeing how each student takes on the topic differently each lesson. I've really pushed them on the variety within drawing- we've had maps, printing, spinning animation disks, ink, charcoal- you name it, we've drawn with it! One of the most satisfying lessons had to be the giant wall drawings- quite a few of my students had never drawn on such a large scale- it really highlighted all their cheeky characters! Out of this world- space painting
I had a lot of fun this week with Suzie who dropped by for a two hour morning session- we decided to go to space! With music playing in the studio and a large piece of canvas we began playing with various painting techniques and colours for the galaxy before working with glitter and collage to create a beautiful wall hanging for Suzie to take back home to India. It really was a great way to spend the morning. I hope you had fun Suzie and enjoy the rest of your holiday! Tôi đã

Thank you Campers!
Art camps are always my favorite time as a teacher at Vinspace. To be honest, I feel so lucky that we have these crazy things 4 times a year, when we could really jump outside the box, not just think of it. Camps to my little mess makers and me (a big mess maker) are always, at the same time, learning and not learning, playing and not playing, working and not working, laid back and not laid back. We simply live and and breath the way we want to. We love each other and we enjo
